Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection
Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Fund (AFIG). AFIG is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. AFIG provides financial assistance and information on alternative fuels and vehicles. The Fund was created in 1992 and is maintained by $3.5 to $4 million annually from a tax on the state's utilities. Eligible applicants for incentive grants are school districts, municipal authorities, political subdivisions, nonprofit entities and corporations or partnerships, and Pennsylvania residents.
Governor’s Green Government Council (GGGC). GGGC was created in l998 to help the state government adopt environmentally friendly operation policies and practices. GGGC works cooperatively across agency jurisdictions, putting sustainable practices into state government’s planning, policymaking, and regulatory operations and striving for continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Grower Greener Program. The Growing Greener Program will invest nearly $650 million over the next five years to preserve farmland and protect open space; eliminate the maintenance backlog in State Parks; clean up abandoned mines and restore watersheds; and provide new and upgraded water and sewer systems.
Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority. On April 8, 2004, Governor Edward G. Rendell signed an Executive Order reauthorizing the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority. The Authority funds Pennsylvania projects relating to renewable energy and the development of indigenous energy resources. Berks County Community Foundation. Berks County Community Foundation helps people find the best way to make charitable gifts to support their community. They facilitate the progress toward these goals by staying alert for opportunities to improve the quality of life in Berks County and assist in identifying ways the philanthropic sector can contribute.
Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is a nonprofit public foundation that works with donors to develop funds that will benefit our community both now and in the future.
Sustainable Energy Fund of Central Eastern PA. The Sustainable Energy Fund is working to promote the use of renewable energy, clean energy technologies, and energy conservation among residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial customers in the PPL Electric Utilities service territory
- Sustainable Development Fund (SDF). SDF promotes the use of renewable and clean energy technologies; energy conservation and efficiency; and the start-up attraction, expansion and retention of sustainable energy businesses in the PECO Energy service territory.

Environmental Fund For Pennsylvania. The Environmental Fund for Pennsylvania works to promote charitable giving for environmental protection, conservation efforts and environmental education.

- Penn Future. An environmental advocacy organization in Pennsylvania. Penn Future calls upon PA citizens to become members of the organization and to speak up for the protection of their environment.
- Pennsylvania Wind Campaign. The Pennsylvania Wind Campaign, a project of the Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy, encourages businesses and residents, statewide and eventually region wide, to join the renewable energy campaign by purchasing electricity generated from high-tech Pennsylvania wind farms.
