Small-Scale Wind

The WPPSEF worked with Penn State’s Westmoreland Cooperative Extension to install a 10 kW Excel-S Bergey wind power system at the Donohoe Center in Greensburg, PA. WPPSEF provided $25,000 in co-funding for the wind power system in 2003. The Donohoe Center, adjacent to the Westmoreland Conservation District, and the Greenforge building, is an excellent resource for the general public to learn about clean energy technologies and concepts such as adaptive reuse.
