Education – STEM Outdoor Learning Center

The Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (EWCTC) constructed a STEM Outdoor Learning Center at their school in Latrobe, PA. EWCTC students designed and constructed the STEM Center and worked with the WPPSEF to install a 20′ vertical axis WindStax wind power system (equipped with battery storage, a weather station and a solar PV panel). The STEM Outdoor Learning Center was dedicated on November 21, 2014. WPPSEF provided $24,000 to support the project.
