Education – Student Constructed High Performance Building

The Western Area Career and Technology Center (WACTC) worked with the WPPSEF to construct an adult learning center to ENERGY STAR building standards. The Adult Learning Center was built by WACTC students with oversight from its building trades faculty. WPPSEF provided support to retain a local contractor (The Energy Doctor) to conduct blower door testing and assist the faculty and students in learning the ENERGY STAR construction process. The building was completed in Fall 2012. WPPSEF provided $31,000 in co-funding to support the project.
